Maria Àngels’s career began in journalism, writing Science and Technology for La Vanguardia, Catalonia’s leading newspaper. She also collaborated with award winning journalist Vladimir de Semir on technology pieces for publications including Spain’s top two newspapers, El Pais and El Mundo. Maria Àngels’s CV includes five years as Press Chief at Cidem-COPCA (promoting Catalonian businesses) as well as Press Officer of the Department of Industry. Maria was also attached to the Press Department of the Technical University of Catalonia where she was responsible for the PR launch of their Robotics Department.

In the early 1990s Maria Àngels travelled to India to explore different approaches to health and well-being. In 1996 she began to hold workshops in Spain, France and Germany in several disciplines to encourage healthy living. In 2009 she decided to focus on promoting good breathing practice and developed the Natura Respira method with her daughter Miriam. Over the years Maria Àngels has taught a variety of audiences – from business to healthcare to education – how a combination of good posture, nutrition and breathing practice can improve physical and emotional health.

In 2011, with her daughter Miriam, Maria Àngels founded Natura Respira European School of Breathing. Their work is recognised by the Catalan Department of Education, with certificate and degree courses available in Spain to qualify new practitioners.

Since 2009 Maria Àngels has directed Natura Respira’s pioneering training programs for breathing, meditation and leadership coaching. She has written several programs for breathing techniques including “The science of respiratory and heart rhythm control”.

Maria Àngels is a delegate to Spain’s Association of Small Businesses for Girona and an active member of Girona’s Association of Entrepreneurs.

Míriam Marcet

An accomplished actress, Miriam trained primarily at the Barcelona Theatre Institute and the UK’s prestigious Rose Bruford College. She has worked with some of Spain’s best known directors in a career which includes theatre, TV and cinema.

Miriam has been researching voice and breathing techniques since 2005 and studied with a host of renowned professionals including James De Paul, Coralina Colom, Gemma Reguant, Natalia Menéndez, Bernerd Fontbuté, Tess Dignan, Alison MacKinnon and Kevin Cripps.

In addition to her prolific acting career, Miriam has voice coached several actors including Goya winner Francesc Colome and Joel Minguet. She has also been employed for her coaching skills by film and production companies such as TV producers El Terrat de Produccions and multi Goya and Oscar winning Fernando Trueba Producciones Cinematograficas.

Miriam has developed the Natura Respira voice and breathing programme with her mother Maria.

Their book “Dime como respiras y te diré cómo vives. Una guía para vivir mejor” (tell me how you breath and I will tell you how you live – a guide to better living) is now available.

Michelle MacDonald

Michelle is a UK-registered homeopath. She trained with various renowned schools in classical homeopathy such as The School of Homeopathy and The London International College of Classical Homeopathy as well as The Vithoulkas International Academy of Classical Homeopathy and has been in practice since 2001. She has recently moved to London from Girona (Catalunya).

Apart from her work in alternative health therapies, Michelle also has experience in teaching and counseling.

Michelle favors a holistic approach to health and, alongside using homeopathy, addresses nutritional imbalances by advising on diet, supplementing it with micronutrients that keep the cells healthy and also recommending lifestyle adjustments when needed.

His  career includes work for market leaders such as the UK’s pioneering videogame distributor Silica Shop, World No1 software publisher Electronic Arts and the Akhter Group of Companies.

Dr. Enric Freixa

He worked for Medecins Sans Frontieres for 20 years and has been involved in emergency relief in over 50 countries, including areas of famine, epidemics, war and natural disaster. His CV also includes senior roles in organisations including the United Nations, Red Cross and the European Commission.

In 2013, Enric left his Public Health post in London to return to Africa, from where he collaborates with Natura Respira.
